Job Description


The Logistics Manager will be responsible for the development of new and existing business to expand the market area and increase productivity and revenue within the Surface Logistics Department.
The successful candidate will have a strong customer service focus and sale driven “can do” attitude.  He or she will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in ground transport management/3PL freight brokering, and previous management experience.
Responsibilities include
• Sales driven individual and capable of meeting deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal skills and must understand rates/costs and be able to work under pressure.
• Must have a thorough understanding of equipment/legalities of the industry and market rates/nuances.
• Able to lead and manage a team and grow.
• Must have good knowledge of carriers and able to build long term relationships with suppliers/and clients.
• Must be able to travel and be available for last minute situations/and a strong sense of urgency.
• Post secondary education or equivalent, minimum of 5 years in ground transport management/3PL freight brokering.
• Bilingual (English/French) preferred but not a must.
• Strong knowledge of carriers and rates both LTL and FTL
• Must have Link Logistics program knowledge
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Strong Canadian and US geographic knowledge
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
