Origins and Parent Company

The Kinki Nippon Railway Company, Ltd. was founded in 1910 and has since grown into the largest private railway company in Japan.  It later became known by the Japanese acronym “Kintetsu”.  Today, the Kintetsu group consists of over 170 affiliated companies, with products and services spanning six continents.
